The natural landscapes of the Lower Inn European Nature Reserve and the extensive Kobernaußerwald forest offer opportunities for all kinds of exercise. Running, Nordic walking, pilgrimage walks, walking or hiking in the peaceful countryside exercise both body and mind, allowing your thoughts to run free.
There are five trails open to all nature lovers, walkers and runners: the Thermal Run (Thermenlauf, 10 km), Raiffeisen Circuit (Raiffeisen Runde, 1.4 km), Slim Line Circuit (Schlanke Linie Runde, 6.4 km), Innviertel Circuit (Innviertel Runde, 3.2 km) and Warehouse Circuit (Lagerhaus-Runde, 9.55 km).
Sometimes, the Thermal Run route can be trained on all year round. The beautiful circuit with its varied conditions underfoot - mainly gravel and grass paths, but also some paved routes - make it suitable for casual walkers as well as hiking enthusiasts.
Exploring a region by bike is the best way to get to know a country and its people, and this definitely applies to the Innviertel region on the border between Upper Austria and Bavaria. The towns and cities in the Innviertel region are not that large, but their diversity and history are impressive. Be it along the river Inn or following in the footsteps of the Romans, the gently rolling landscape will lead you to special places and little gems en route, or to discover secret rest areas.
Whether you opt for a slow-paced tour across the region’s flat terrains or push yourself to your limits to overcome those Alpine summits, the choice is yours.
The Innviertel region is famous for its delicious beer. Nowhere else are so many breweries squeezed into such a small area. All this beer-making talent comes together to form the "Innviertel Beer Region".
With seven private breweries and more than sixty different kinds of beer, the region is a genuine treasure trove of taste and indulgence.
The Innviertel way of life is reflected on its plates and in its glasses. Innviertel cuisine is down-to-earth, hearty and tasty. With great skill and flair, top chefs reinterpret "Grandma's recipes" in new, creative and simple ways. From basic pubs and cosy cider houses right through to upmarket toque-winning restaurants, the Innviertel region has something to suit every taste and budget.
In addition to our multiple award-winning AQARIUM Restaurant, the Innviertel region has five other toque-winning restaurants to provide you with culinary delicacies. Find more information about the toque-winning restaurants here. Incidentally, ‘Innviertler Surspeck’ (white cured bacon) is a regional speciality, which has been designated as a “Genussregion” (of particular culinary importance) all on its own.
